Year End Reflection Practice

"Hope is being able to see that there is light despite all of the darkness." -Archbishop Desmond Tutu

One of the rituals we love to do at year end is to reflect.

Why?
It helps us learn, let go (which frees up energy) and then decide what we want to focus on moving forward.

Here is a simple ritual to get you started.

Light a fire, a candle, turn on some smooth jazz, get cozy, grab pen, paper & ask yourself the following:

1. What were the peak moments for me this year?
These are experiences we felt alive, connected, joyful, fulfilled, successful, even if we were challenged. Usually the other side of challenge is freedom! As I spoke about in my TEDx, we are all after an experience.

2. What were the experiences that no longer align with who I am becoming?
These are experiences that made us feel shut down, contracted, hopeless, even depressed. Be honest. Be gentle. The truth does set us free.

3. Based on above, what am I ready and willing to let go of?
These are behaviors, relationships, habits, activities, jobs that no longer align with you- your life, your spirit, your dreams. When we hold on to what needs to go we are distracted and lose energy.

4. What do you want to sow/create/have happen in 2024?
Once you decide what to let go of, you free up energy and are able to focus on what you want to sow.
